No Using “Special Circumstances” to Whitewash Pornographic Thinking — A Critique of Chiokk’s Reactionary Ideas
After reading Chiokk’s self-introduction Part 2, it must be clearly stated: this is not ordinary “ideological confusion,” but an open defense of reactionary pornographic thinking, while trying to drape it in the outer garments of “feminism,” “anti-patriarchy,” and “reading Cultural Revolution books” to cover up the shame. This kind of thinking must be seriously criticized; it cannot be brushed aside.
1. The claim that “women are active and men are passive, so it’s not patriarchy” is completely specious
Chiokk says that what he looks at is not “men actively oppressing women,” but rather “women are active and men are passive,” so it does not count as patriarchal pornography.
This is sheer sophistry.
Whether pornographic thinking is reactionary is not judged by who appears active or passive on the surface, but by whether it turns people into tools for satisfying desire, whether it turns human relations into sexual domination, sexual humiliation, and sexual fantasy, and whether it treats oppressive relations as something to be consumed for stimulation.
As long as people are still being used as material for sexual fantasy, as long as women are placed into pornographic scenarios for one’s own excitement, that is not anti-patriarchy, and even less is it women’s liberation. Reversing the direction of oppression and playing it out once more is still oppression; repackaging rotten pornography in a different direction is still rotten pornography.
This talk of “reverse patriarchy” is not anti-patriarchy at all; it is patriarchal pornographic thinking in a different shell.
2. He simply does not truly treat women as human beings
Real women’s liberation means women breaking free from family oppression, social oppression, sexual oppression, and capitalist exploitation, becoming independent people and the main force in revolutionary struggle.
Chiokk’s so-called “feminism” is not the liberation of oppressed women in reality, not women taking part in labor, taking part in struggle, and breaking free from patriarchal control. Instead, it imagines women as active, dominant figures in pornographic scenes.
This shows that in his mind there are no real women at all—no working women in real life, no oppressed, exploited, humiliated, and harmed women among the masses. There are only shadows inside his own pornographic fantasies.
On the surface, this thinking talks about women being active; in reality, it still revolves around male desire. Women are not human beings there, not comrades, not the masses, but roles in a pornographic fantasy. This is just another expression of patriarchal thinking.
3. Using “liberal and broad left influences” to explain degeneration is evading responsibility
Chiokk says that he has been influenced by liberal and broad-left ideas, which caused mental exhaustion and made him unable to study, so he uses these things to cope.
Liberalism, the broad left, anime pornography culture, and online trash culture do indeed corrode young people. There is no doubt about that. But the question is: why have these things taken root in you? Why didn’t you struggle against them? Why didn’t you cut them off? Why did you not treat them as poisonous weeds and criticize them, but instead bring them out to defend yourself?
If all you say is “bad ideas influenced me,” but you do not say why you welcomed them, why you enjoyed them, and why you defended them, then that is not self-criticism; it is an attempt to escape responsibility.
True self-criticism must make clear: what did I get out of these rotten things? Why was I unwilling to cut them off? Why did I still try to find excuses for them? Without addressing these points, saying one was “influenced” is empty talk.
4. “If you help me solve this, I guarantee I won’t do it again” is bargaining
Chiokk says that if everyone is willing to help him solve these ideological problems and get him started on reading theory, then he guarantees he will never masturbate again.
This attitude is also wrong.
Comrades can help you, and the organization can educate you, but they cannot take responsibility for you. Transformation cannot be turned into a transaction: you help me first, and then I promise not to do it again. Saying it this way still shifts the responsibility onto others, as if your degeneration happened because others did not help you properly.
The correct attitude should be: I have already recognized the seriousness of the problem, and now I will immediately stop contacting pornographic trash, stop defending myself, bring out the ideological roots, accept criticism, accept supervision, and begin changing from today.
You do not wait until others have “comforted you” before you change. Revolutionary transformation is not bargaining.
5. Buying Cultural Revolution books cannot cover up rotten thinking
Chiokk also posted the old Cultural Revolution books he bought, saying he wants to read theory and hopes everyone will help him.
Buying revolutionary books is not, in itself, a bad thing. But in the context of this post, it looks glaringly out of place. Right after defending pornographic trash, he immediately posts revolutionary books, as if to say: look, I do have problems, but I also want to study revolutionary theory.
That is using revolutionary books to cover up shame.
Cultural Revolution books are not a charm. Buying books does not mean having a revolutionary stance; wanting to read does not mean being willing to transform oneself. If someone is drowning in pornographic trash on the one hand and using revolutionary books to dress themselves up on the other, then that is not studying Marxism—it is petty-bourgeois collecting, curiosity-seeking, and identity performance.
Revolutionary theory is for transforming the world outlook, not for slapping a red label on a rotten lifestyle.
6. This is not a private little issue, but a worldview issue
Pornographic thinking is not a private detail. How a person views sex, how they view women, how they view their own desires—this directly reflects their class position and worldview.
Bourgeois society turns everything into commodities, including the human body and sexual relations. Pornographic culture is the concentrated expression of this rotten relationship. It teaches people to treat others as objects, women as tools, oppressive relations as stimulation, and human feelings and dignity as something to be trampled underfoot.
Proletarian revolutionaries must break with this kind of thinking. If a person says they want to learn Marxism while at the same time indulging in pornographic trash and making excuses for it, that shows their way of life and worldview are still stuck in the filthy pit of rotten petty-bourgeois thought.
7. Chiokk’s ideological components are a manifestation of decadent petty-bourgeois left-circle youth
From this post, Chiokk’s problem is not simply that he “doesn’t understand theory,” but that several kinds of thought are mixed together:
First, the pornographic thinking is severe. He is not quietly admitting error; he is openly finding excuses, which shows he did not merely pick up this thinking by accident, but has already begun serving it.
Second, the patriarchal thinking is severe. On the surface he talks about “women being active,” but in reality he is still placing women inside his own pornographic fantasies and has not treated women as real people or comrades.
Third, petty-bourgeois exceptionalism is severe. General rules can be used to criticize others, but when it comes to himself, he says “my situation is special.” That is the old trick of evading criticism.
Fourth, opportunist left-circle thinking is severe. He wraps himself in labels like “liberal,” “broad left,” “feminism,” and “anti-patriarchy,” while also using Cultural Revolution books to prove he “longs for revolution.” This is not honest self-criticism; it is using concepts and red books to cover up shame.
Fifth, the sense of responsibility is very poor. Instead of first resolving to cut off rotten thinking, he says “you help me solve it, and I’ll guarantee it.” This still hands initiative to others and shifts responsibility onto the collective.
8. If he still wants to improve, he must immediately do the following
If Chiokk is not acting in bad faith and truly wants to transform himself, then he must first do the following:
First, stop defending pornographic thinking. Do not keep talking about “reverse patriarchy” or “women being active so it doesn’t count as patriarchy.” These are all sophistry.
Second, stop contacting and spreading pornographic material. Do not bring this kind of thing into the forum to pollute others.
Third, rewrite a serious self-criticism. He must make clear his class background, life experiences, the process by which he came into contact with left-circle and pornographic culture, why this thinking formed, and why he defended it.
Fourth, genuinely study women’s liberation theory. Do not understand women through pornographic fantasies; understand women’s liberation through the oppression and struggle of working women in real life.
Fifth, accept comrades’ criticism and supervision. Do not treat transformation as a transaction, and do not wait for others to coax you or solve it for you. You yourself must first take the knife and cut away these rotten ideas.
9. Conclusion
Chiokk’s post sounds a warning to everyone: even if a left-circle youth buys a few revolutionary books and says they want to learn theory, if they do not struggle against their rotten lifestyle, do not struggle against pornographic thinking, and do not struggle against patriarchal thinking, they will still wrap the most reactionary and vulgar things in the outer garments of “feminism,” “anti-patriarchy,” and “interest in Marxism.”
Revolutionary organizations cannot tolerate this kind of thing. The forum also must not let this kind of thinking slip in and pollute newcomers. This reactionary thinking must be clearly criticized, and its roots must be dug out.
If he wants to change, he must first stop defending himself, accept criticism, and remake himself. Otherwise, no matter how many Cultural Revolution books he buys, it is nothing more than putting a red cover over rotten ideas.
